Why “Squarewheels”?

Having batted various bits of my websites around from one “free” ISP to another, gradually the time came when I wanted my own Domain Name within which the whole lot could eventually be permanently placed. I decided against a domain based on my own name, and after some thought the name Squarewheels popped into my mind.

I feel it is highly appropriate, as it combines the element of Wheels (most of my interests seem to involve vehicles or machinery that has wheels) with that of “Square eyes”, i.e. what one is said to get after using display screen equipment for too long!

A friend wrote to me to point out that a vehicle with square wheels is not necessarily useless — Stan Wagon’s square-wheeled tricycle is a suitable example!
